Tuesday, October 14th: Social Event: International Potluck |
- Time and location: 5:00 to 6:30 PM in 1303 VMH
- Content: Part of the mission of the International Economics and Finance Society is to create a forum through which students can meet to engage in discussion and establish contacts to the professional world. We also aim to facilitate increased learning about the international environment and global issues. Our International Potluck puts a different spin on accomplishing this, by providing an opportunity for you to:

- Time and location: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in VMH 2511
- Content:Veritas Prep is the fastest growing GMAT prep company, providing rigorous preparation courses. At the event, Veritas Group will focus on the following:
- the advantages of receiving an MBA
- the admissions process itself

Thursday, October 30th: Professional Event: DC Trip to IMF and World Bank |
- Time and location: 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM in Washington D.C.
- Content: We will first visit the World Bank from 9:40 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We are welcome to have lunch at their cafeteria. We should arrive at the IMF at 1:30p.m.
- Picture IDs are mandatory.
- Attire is business professional. However, business casual is allowed.
- For those of you who would like to go together as a group, we will meet at the bus stop near the Health Center at 8:45 a.m. sharp. Then, we will take the metro to DC.
- For those of you who will be coming on your own. We will be using the visitors' entrance to the World Bank on 1818 H Street NW. Please arrive by 9:40 a.m. sharp.

Tuesday, November 11th: Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) |
- Time and location: 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM VMH 1307
- Content: For 28 years, SEO has offered mentored internships to outstanding college students of color (Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian and Native American). The SEO career program is open to all majors, and gives students the opportunity to ear $600 to $1200 a week during the summer. Join IEFS to learn more about:
- The seven internship areas (Asset Management, Corporate Law, Global Corporate Financial Leadership, Finannce/Accounting, Information Technology, Investment Banking, and Philanthropy)

- The application and interview process

Thursday, November 13th: Social Event: Community Service - " Beyond These Walls: English as a Second Language |
- Time and location: 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Northwestern High School on Adelphi Road
- Content: We will be volunteering as ESL teachers for the "Beyond these Walls: English as a Second Language" program
- As Volunteers, we will help teachers by giving personalized attention to students who otherwise could not recieve this extra individualized help. Roles include teaching specific objectives, leading group work assignments, and checking/grading student work.
